Residential Treatment Center for Behavioral Health & Substance Use

Serving Madison, South Dakota

Turning Point Behavioral Health is more than a treatment center—we’re your partner in health and recovery. While we are not a detox center, we help clients dealing with substance use issues better prepare for and transition to outpatient care. As we continue to grow, mental health inpatient services will be available in the future.

Our location in downtown Madison, South Dakota, is easy to find and close to many amenities. With 24 residential apartments on-site, including separate men’s and women’s wings, clients experience a comfortable and safe environment while focusing on their recovery journey.

What We Offer

High/Medium Intensive Residential Services

Treatment and services include medically monitored inpatient care for individuals at risk of withdrawal or with specific medical needs that require careful observation, treatment, or follow-up. These services include round-the-clock supervision, ensuring clients are monitored and supported throughout their recovery journey. Elements of high-intensive care include structured therapeutic activities, individual and group counseling sessions, and evidence-based treatment tailored to meet each person’s unique needs.

By providing a safe and controlled environment, we aim to reduce the risk of relapse and promote lasting recovery. The goal is to empower individuals with the tools and strategies they need to reclaim their lives and maintain sobriety in the long term.

Low-Intensive Residential Services

As clients progress, they can transition to lower-intensive services, supporting a smoother journey toward recovery. Low-intensive treatment and services teach essential recovery skills, including relapse prevention and trigger management. At this level, clients can continue their daily activities and maintain employment. By participating in residential behavioral health treatment, individuals receive the necessary support and skills to manage their substance use issues, while continuing their professional responsibilities.

Daily Support Meetings

At Turning Point Behavioral Health, we recognize the vital role that mutual help meetings, such as 12-step programs and other peer support groups, play in long-term recovery. We are looking to offer daily mutual help meetings on-site to provide our clients with the opportunity to connect with others who share similar experiences, fostering a supportive and understanding environment. Additionally, we actively encourage our clients to attend external meetings to strengthen their recovery network within the broader community. We are also committed to expanding our in-house offerings by bringing more mutual help meetings directly into our facility, ensuring convenient and consistent access to these critical resources.
